These goats really work. I use the milk for cheese and soap, and other things. I milk by hand and expect lots of good tasting milk and nice manners on the stanchion.

Phoebe is sweet as a kitten and my favorite girl. She ismilking close to or above a gallon a day, or about #7.95 average daily
*Phoebe as you can see is gorgeous and has such an amazing udder and milks like a dream, but she has a tiny little "spur teat" or "blind teat" on her left side udder. It's a flaw, but not a disqualification. It's not something we want to breed in, so none of her sons will ever be sold as bucks- but all will be castrated and sold as pets. For now I plan to keep any doelings she ever has and see what the future holds. I have had inquiries from people who like her and want a doe kid out of her. I will think about that, but if I do say yes, it will be a "special treaty sale", meaning  the buyer signs a contract stating they will not sell that kid's boys as anything but castrated wethers and full discloser is provided. It's a lot of fuss for a tiny little thing, but, there it is.
She is so fabulous it would be a waste for me not to enjoy her and her daughters unless I see this trait passing down. Usually it doesn't- it's a fluke and can happen in ANY herd. I have researched thoroughly and feel satisfied in my choice. I cull ruthlessly for my own sake, as well as my herd's sake, so this was a big decision and I consulted other, respected breeders.

April 2016 update: Phoebe is milking between #8 and #10 daily. Bless her!

2017 March I'm so sorry to report that a week after kidding I lost my precious Phoebe. She was dearly loved.
